Head to East Berkshire and blow the cobwebs away on a fairly long, but mostly level walk through Windsor Great Park. Once part of a vast Norman hunting forest, the park is a great place for a walk with its wonderful mix of ancient oak trees and wildlife, including a large herd of red deer.
This month’s walk starts out from Oakley to the west of Basingstoke. The village, which consists of East Oakley and Church Oakley – the latter being close to the church, was mentioned in the Domesday Book, though its history goes back much further than that as there are a number of ancient burial mounds, or tumuli, nearby.
Head north through Buckinghamshire to the village of Edlesborough for a walk in the shadow of the Chilterns, passing a memorial to a remarkable lady.
This month’s walk is based round the village of Preston Candover, tucked amongst the gently rolling landscape that lies between Basingstoke, Alton and Alresford.

Head south for a wander alongside the picturesque River Hamble.
Head to Stokenchurch for 6 mile wander – with shorter option – through some picturesque rolling Chiltern countryside visiting peaceful Radnage.
Head to the Meon Valley for a wander through Exton and Warnford with some great views from Beacon Hill.
Take a walk alongside the peaceful Kennet and Avon Canal, before visiting Aldermaston Wharf and Padworth.
Head to the western edge of the New Forest for an easy wander over the neighbouring commons of Rockford and Ibsley.
