My main areas of interest are hill and countryside walking in the UK, especially in the Thames Valley region, also UK and European travel. I have interests in nature, native woodlands, local history and architecture. I have been a keen hill walker for most of my life and have walked in many parts of the UK, from the rugged mountains of Scotland, to the much gentler contours of the Chiltern Hills.
I hold a Mountain Leader (summer) Certificate and have also worked as a part-time outdoor education instructor (though that was a good few years ago..!). I am also a member of the Outdoor Writers and Photographers Guild (www.owpg.org.uk).
Over the years, my work has been used in various magazines including: Berkshire and Buckinghamshire Life, Hampshire Life, Camping, Destination France, Trail and TGO. Also national and local newspapers including: The Independent and The Independent on Sunday. I have also written several guidebooks including Walking in the Thames Valley (Cicerone, 2008) and Walking in the New Forest (Cicerone, 2012), all fully illustrated throughout with my own photographs.
I have a good working knowledge of PC based Microsoft Office software (Word, Publisher, Excel, PowerPoint and Access), also various imaging software, including Adobe Photoshop and Corel Draw. I also designed this website, with the help of some WYSIWYG software.

Oxfordshire and Wiltshire)

- Wessex Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
- Chilterns Area of Outstanding Natural Beauty
Most of the images on this site have been taken with Olympus digital SLR cameras. Some of the earlier images are scanned from Fuji slide film, using a high quality Nikon slide scanner. Post processing, where necessary, is done using Adobe Photoshop.
